Big John Wyndham fan, so I enjoyed your podcast. His brother Vivian was actually encouraged to write by John, who as you say was plying his trade for some time. Strictly speaking ‘Triffids’ was not his first novel (he had four pre-war books published, though they were commercially unsuccessful).
